Who is eligible to obtain Residential Parking Permits?
All residents who either rent or own a dwelling in the zone are eligible. To be eligible, a vehicle must display a valid Pennsylvania License Plate and must be registered to a residential address within the permits zone. An RPP can be obtained by a resident for a company owned or leased vehicle if the resident can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Parking Authority that they are a resident, that they are the principle operator of the vehicle, and the vehicle is a leased or company vehicle.
How do I get a Residential Parking Permit?
- UPMC Hamot Hospital Area – You can bring the Vehicle Registration along with your Drivers License to the Erie Parking Authority, located at 25 East 10th Street, 2nd Floor. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If these documents do not show an address within a Residential Parking Permit Zone, please call the EPA to determine what other documents will be necessary, such as a lease, major utility bill, etc.
- St Vincent’s Area – You can bring the Vehicle Registration along with your Drivers License to the Erie Parking Authority Offices, located at 25 E 10th Street 2nd Floor Erie PA. Hours in operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If these documents do not show an address within a Residential Parking Permit Zone, please call the EPA to determine what other documents will be necessary, such as a lease, major utility bill, etc.
Can guests at my home get a Visitors Permit to Park?
- UPMC Hamot Area – Each residence will be provided with a Visitor Parking Permit. This permit must be visibly placed on the driver’s side dashboard of the visiting vehicle.
- St Vincent’s Area – People who are temporarily staying with residents in a Residential Parking Permit Zone must call in their visitors make or car and licenses plate number to 814-459-9566.
